Yesterday’s trading session witnessed a mixed performance from Nifty as it commenced with a lackluster start, only to unfold with a roller-coaster ride of price movements. The index struggled to achieve a fresh all-time high, falling short by a mere point. Except for marginal gains in Nifty Media (+0.04%) and Metal (+0.05%), all other sectoral indices concluded the day in negative territory. Among the major decliners were Nifty PSU Bank, Realty, IT, and FMCG, all of which experienced a decline ranging between 0.7% to 0.8%. The advance-decline ratio, standing at 0.45, pointed towards a higher count of decliners.
At present, we find ourselves in the midst of a Rally Attempt. However, for us to transition the market status to a Confirmed Uptrend, we would ideally prefer to witness a follow-through day. Crossing the previous rally high of 18,887 by the indices or witnessing key sectoral indices and broader market indices achieve new highs could potentially prompt us to consider shifting the market status to a Confirmed Uptrend. In such a scenario, our primary focus would revolve around identifying ideas that exhibit robust relative strength and demonstrate significant accumulation. Historically, stocks that rebound swiftly often emerge as leaders in the subsequent rally.
